How to check for fossil fuels in your clothing

How to check for fossil fuels in your clothing

Did you know that most uniforms and aprons are made from 65% fossil fuels?

Yep, you read that right - fossil fuels = plastic = polyester.

We’ll be the first to admit we’re not perfect. Our uniforms contain 2% spandex, which means there’s still a tiny bit of synthetic fibre in the mix which we add for movement comfort.

But here’s the big difference: we’re 98% kinder to the planet because we don’t use fossil fuels as the main component of our uniforms. We also don't use cotton that has been grown using pesticides. Our organic cotton uniforms are 100% pesticide free.

So, how do you check what your uniforms (or any of your clothes) are made from? It’s easy - just take a peek at the wash care label stitched inside the garment! You’ll find a breakdown of the fabric composition there. Next time you put on your uniform, have a look and ask yourself: is your uniform or apron made from fossil fuels or plants?

We’d love to know what you discover! Email us and let us know.
